These terms and conditions apply to the submission, publication and use of listings, events and other information submitted to SC.
By submitting a listing or event to SC, you agree to these terms and conditions.
Listings and events can be submitted by businesses, organisations, community groups and individuals.
You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and not misleading. You must also have the necessary rights and permissions to submit any text, images, logos, photographs, links or other material included in your submission.
SC reserves the right to decline submissions that are unsuitable for the website or inconsistent with the purpose of Somerset Connect.
You are responsible for keeping the information relating to your listing accurate and up to date.
SC provides features that allow listing owners to make basic changes to their listings. Some changes are made by SC where necessary to ensure that information is correctly structured, categorised or represented using appropriate schema and structured data.
SC makes technical or formatting changes to submitted information where reasonably necessary to maintain accurate structured data, schema properties or listing types. Where SC makes these changes, we preserve the intended meaning of the information supplied.
SC does not independently verify every piece of information submitted to the website.
The first 100 approved listings are free of charge.
Once a listing has been accepted as one of the first 100 qualifying listings, it remains free for as long as that listing remains active on SC.
SC determines whether a submission qualifies as one of the first 100 listings.
After the first 100 qualifying free listings have been allocated, listings are charged at £10 per month.
Paid listings are charged on a recurring monthly basis. By subscribing to a paid listing, you authorise SC or its payment provider to collect the applicable recurring payment.
SC uses third-party payment providers, including GoCardless, to process payments.
Payments are non-refundable. SC suspends or removes a paid listing where required payments are not successfully received.
You retain responsibility for the content and materials that you submit to SC.
By submitting content, you confirm that you have the right to provide that content for publication on SC. You give SC permission to reproduce, display, format and adapt submitted content as reasonably necessary to publish and operate your listing or event.
This permission includes using submitted information on website pages, in search features, structured data, schema, search engine results and other features of SC.
SC makes reasonable formatting, technical or structural changes to submitted content where necessary for the operation of the website.
SC listings and events are available to search engines, AI systems and other technologies that access or process publicly available website information.
SC uses structured data and schema to help search engines, AI systems and other services understand and discover information published on SC.
SC does not guarantee that a listing will appear in search results, be recommended by an AI system, receive referrals, generate enquiries or result in any particular level of visibility or traffic.
Listings can include links to relevant external websites, social media profiles and other online resources.
SC is not responsible for the content, availability, security or accuracy of external websites or services linked from SC.
Any interaction, transaction or agreement between a visitor and a business, organisation, event organiser or other third party is solely between those parties. SC does not act as a party to transactions or agreements between users and listed businesses or organisations.
SC reserves the right to refuse, suspend, edit or remove a listing or event where it considers this necessary or appropriate.
This includes situations involving inaccurate, misleading, inappropriate or unlawful content, misuse of the website, non-payment, or content that does not fit the purpose of Somerset Connect.
SC also removes or modifies content where reasonably necessary to maintain the accuracy or functionality of the website, including its structured data and schema.
SC removes listings where the information they contain is no longer relevant or the listed business, organisation, event or service is no longer operating.
SC aims to keep the website available and operating correctly but does not guarantee that the website, listings, events or any particular feature will always be available or free from errors.
SC temporarily suspends or restricts access to the website where necessary for maintenance, updates, security or other operational requirements.
SC is not responsible for interruptions or failures caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control.
Information published on SC is provided for general informational purposes.
SC does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or suitability of information submitted by third parties.
SC does not endorse or guarantee the quality, legality, reliability or suitability of any business, organisation, service, product or event listed on the website.
Users are responsible for making their own enquiries and decisions before relying on information contained on SC or engaging with a listed business, organisation or event.
To the extent permitted by law, SC is not responsible for losses, damage, costs or expenses arising from reliance on information supplied by third parties, interactions with listed businesses or organisations, external websites, or the use or unavailability of the SC website.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
SC updates these terms and conditions from time to time.
Updated terms are published on the SC website. Continued use of SC or continued use of an active listing following an update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
